And Why It Matters

Dental issues affect eating habits, behavior, and even heart health.
Poor oral hygiene can lead to bacterial buildup, tooth loss, and systemic infection. I cannot stress this enough, PLEASE BRUSH YOUR DOGS TEETH.
Nutrition Tips
- Choose dry kibble or dental chews to reduce plaque buildup.
- Avoid sticky or sugary treats.
- Supplement with dental powders or water additives approved by vets.
- Include foods rich in vitamin C and calcium for gum strength.
- Apples and celery are great for cleaning the teeth off.
Prevention Routine
- Brush teeth 2–3× per week using a dog-specific toothbrush.
- Provide dental toys that gently scrape plaque.
- Schedule annual vet cleanings.
- Just as much as we try to keep our breath smelling fresh
- Unless you want your dogs teeth to fall out and smell like garbage.
To make things easier, you can purchase dental chews. They go into your dog’s daily meals. These chews aid with bad breath or plaque buildup if you can’t brush your dog’s teeth often.(like greenies for example)
